The Wheems Sandpiper yurt is a beautiful insulated Ger and is made for a British climate and we have made some extra modifications for Orkney. The wood stove is easy to light and keeps the yurt warm. Great for 2 adults and 2 children or couples
It is 16ft diameter with a custom made wooden floor and 4 poster handmade double bed.
It is a wonderful adventure for those who enjoy lighting a fire every evening whilst looking out to sea.
The yurt has a 4 poster double bed, two futon single beds,, washing up bowl, wood burning stove, cooking equipment, plates and bowls and cutlery. There will be a trug full of logs, kindling, firelight’s and matches. Extra firewood is available on site.
If you need bedding (duvet, pillows) please make sure you order it when booking or call us before arrival.
Please note there is NO ELECTRICITY in the yurt. You will become attached to the wood stove!
Yurt guests share the showers, loos and campers; kitchen with other campsite guests.
There is a maximum 3 adults per yurt. Great for two adults and 2 children. One 4 poster double bed and two cosy futon beds available.
